COMPENSATING CLAMPS With conventional top cover clamps, the operator must try to adjust each clamp to the proper clamping force level. Failure to do so results in poor sealing between decks and even the possibility of damage to the machine's components. The Compensating Clamp is a spring loaded device that actually measures the clamping force and gives a positive, visual indication of whether the clamp is properly adjusted. Also, this new clamp is more compliant, giving it the ability to compensate for temperature changes or seal wear.
